Digital consultant · Brisbane
A digital consultantwho fixes the actual problem.
Nine years across paid media, analytics, technical SEO and web development. I am the person you call when the conversion data cannot be trusted, the ad budget is going somewhere nobody can explain, or four different suppliers are all pointing at each other.

Most digital problems are measurement problems in disguise.
Before anyone can tell you what is working, the numbers have to be right. In nine years of auditing accounts, that is where it has almost always started going wrong.
Nobody owns the tracking
Your agency assumes the developer did it. The developer assumes the agency did it. The container has forty tags in it and no naming convention. Everyone reports confidently on numbers nobody has actually checked.
Every specialist has one hammer
The SEO wants more content, the ads agency wants more budget, the developer wants a rebuild. All three might be right. None of them can tell you which one to do first.
The reporting is a slide, not an answer
Impressions are up. Sessions are up. Nobody can tell you whether the money made money, or which channel deserves credit for the enquiries that came in.
The list of small jobs never shrinks
A tag that needs adding, a feed that keeps disconnecting, a redirect nobody mapped. Too small for an agency to care about, too technical to do internally.
Five things I do, properly.
Not a full-service agency. A short list of things I have done for nine years and can be held to account on.

The order I work in, and why it is that order.
You can spend money on ads with broken tracking. You will just be paying an algorithm to learn the wrong lesson. So it goes measurement, then media, then the site.
First, make the numbers true
Every engagement starts with a measurement audit, whether you hired me for it or not. Not because it is billable, but because everything downstream depends on it. Smart bidding is only as good as the conversion signal you feed it, and most accounts are feeding it duplicates, bot traffic, or the wrong event entirely.
- Full GTM container audit and cleanup
- A dataLayer designed on purpose, not accumulated by accident
- GA4 events modelled to match how the business actually makes money
- Consent handled properly, so the data is legal as well as accurate
Conversion tracking — after
previewThen spend the money where it returns
With a signal you can trust, paid media becomes an honest arithmetic problem rather than an argument. The biggest wins are usually not clever. They are separating branded from unbranded so you can see real growth, cleaning up a product feed, and turning off the things quietly eating 30% of the budget.
- Branded and unbranded split out and judged separately
- Performance Max with exclusions and asset groups you control
- Merchant Center feeds fixed at the source
- Reporting that answers whether the money made money

UK engineering business
Then build the site that has to convert
I write the code as well. That matters more than it sounds, because the recommendations do not stop at a slide deck saying ‘improve page speed’. Shopify, Statamic, Laravel, Tailwind and Alpine. Built by someone who then has to make the tracking, the ads and the SEO work on top of it.
- Migrations without the traffic drop
- JavaScript sites Google can actually read
- Conversion rate work implemented, not just recommended
- Tracking built in at the same time, not bolted on later

A sample of what that has produced. Every figure below is from work I did personally, in the seat.
6x
Consistent return on ad spend for an Australia-wide engineering e-commerce business, on a $30,000 monthly budget, unbranded new-customer traffic only
4x
Return on ad spend for a UK clothing brand spending up to £40,000 a month across Shopping and YouTube
2,000+
Pages migrated to a new platform with redirects and DNS, with no noticeable drop in organic traffic

Distinct user actions tracked through Google Tag Manager on a single site, feeding a full Power BI reporting stack
Client names withheld under agency and contract terms. Happy to talk specifics on a call.
Or learn to do it yourselves.
I have delivered in-person training to groups of 4 to 15 across analytics, ads and paid social. Sometimes the better outcome is that your team stops needing me.
For agencies
Your team can build a container. Can they debug one?
Advanced Google Tag Manager training for agency teams, built by someone who has sat in agency seats and had to fix this under deadline. Optionally taught on two of your own live client accounts, so you leave with the training and two fixed accounts.

Technical SEO training
Crawling, rendering, migrations and structure, for people who have to brief developers.
Nine years, four countries’worth of broken accounts.
I am Luke. I started in UK agencies, moved in-house, and have spent the last few years in Brisbane doing the same work for Australian businesses. Agency side I ran paid accounts and analytics builds at Candour and Bambrick Media. In-house I handled digital operations, CRM automation and reporting at Ingenia Lifestyle, and marketing effectiveness reporting to board level at Awin Global.
That mix is the point. Having sat on both sides, I know what an agency will and will not tell you, and I know why the in-house team never gets around to fixing the tracking. I take on a small number of clients so I can actually do the work rather than manage it.
Outside of this I am a qualified running coach and run a coaching business, which mostly means I have strong opinions about honest marketing and no patience for hype.

Whether this is worth a call.
I would rather tell you no early than take a project that was never going to work. Here is my honest read on fit.
This is a good fit if
- You are spending real money on digital and cannot confidently say what it returns
- You have a site, a product or service that sells, and a business that can handle more enquiries
- You want one person accountable rather than four suppliers pointing at each other
- You would rather hear ‘that will not work’ than be sold something
- You need someone who can both diagnose the problem and then actually go and fix it
Call someone else if
- You want brand awareness campaigns with no conversion goal attached
- You need a large team on site full time — I am one person and I will say so
- You want someone to push buttons without asking questions about the business
- Your margins genuinely cannot support paid acquisition yet, in which case I will tell you that free
- You are looking for the cheapest possible option rather than the one that works
How working together actually goes.
No discovery phase that bills for six weeks before anything happens.
A 30-minute call
You tell me what is wrong. I ask questions and tell you honestly whether I think I am the right person. Free, and there is no proposal at the end unless you want one.
A paid audit, fixed price
I go through the accounts, the container and the site, and give you a written document with what is broken, what it is costing, and what I would do in what order. It is yours whether you hire me or not.
Scoped work, fixed price
We agree the specific pieces worth doing and what each one costs. No open-ended hourly billing, no minimum twelve-month lock-in.
Ongoing, only if it earns it
If there is genuinely enough monthly work, we set up a retainer. If there is not, I will say so and you can call me when something breaks.
Reasonable questions,straight answers.
Something not covered? Ask me directly — you will get a straight answer, not a proposal.
Are you actually based in Brisbane?
Yes. I am Brisbane-based and work with clients across Australia, plus a few remaining UK accounts. Most of the work is done remotely regardless of city, but I am happy to meet in person in Brisbane and can travel for on-site training or workshops.
Are you an agency?
No. It is me. That is the entire pitch. You get nine years of experience doing the work rather than a senior person at the pitch meeting and a junior on the account afterwards. The trade-off is that I take on a limited number of clients at a time and I will tell you if I am full.
What does it cost?
Audits are fixed price and quoted up front based on account size. Project work is scoped and quoted as a fixed number before anything starts. Retainers are monthly and I will only propose one if there is genuinely enough recurring work to justify it. No percentage-of-ad-spend billing, because it rewards me for spending your money.
Do I own my accounts and data?
Always. Everything is built in your Google Ads, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Meta accounts, under your ownership. If we stop working together you keep all of it, plus documentation. I do not hold accounts hostage.
Can you just do one thing, or is it all or nothing?
One thing is fine and common. Plenty of engagements are a single tracking audit or one migration. I will tell you if I think something else is the bigger problem, but I am not going to refuse to fix your tag manager because you will not also hand me the ad account.
Do you work with agencies as well as businesses directly?
Yes, on a white-label basis for tracking and analytics builds, and through the agency training programme. If you are an agency, I do not approach your clients directly and I will sign something saying so.
